AT&T Overview: AT&T and IBM Global Services have engaged DDGlobal to deliver multiple web development and strategic systems projects across IBM's AT&T Business Market Division project portfolio. DDGlobal deployed over 100 consultants to execute several critical projects supporting key customer care initiatives. One initiative, modernization of the Estimation and Capacity Planning process, afforded DDGlobal the ability to collaborate with AT&T and IBM to construct a modern, streamlined business process supported by best-of-breed technology. Business Challenge: The IBM Global Services contract with AT&T supports Enhancement and Maintenance support for over 20 key systems. In order to provide the highest quality process for support for each system, and developing new systems requires an elaborate process of project definition, estimation and tracking in accord with historical AT&T requirements for funded initiatives. All information is currently initiated, tracked and processed via Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. DDGlobal helped generate an automated process for estimation and capacity planning to drive down overhead cost and increase customer satisfaction by timely processing of requests for the funding of new initiatives. Business Solution: DDGlobal's team has analyzed the Estimation and Capacity Planning process. We have begun to develop web-based applications that will empower the estimation teams to submit systems development estimates online and facilitate review and processing by IBM and AT&T. This review can now occur real-time, effectively shortening the cycle time of this process by a tremendous amount. This application will interface with current work authorization tools to ensure consistent electronic information flow. Technical Solution: To implement the Estimation Repository system, DDGlobal deployed Microsoft Active Server Page (ASP) technology with a SQL Server database and information presented using Dynamic HTML. The application makes liberal use of XML technology. In order to ensure all estimates are generated following contractual guidelines, DDGlobal implemented the business rules in VB Scripts and Stored Procedures. This application resides on a Windows NT platform. Outcome of Engagement: DDGlobal has delivered software solutions, systems analysis and technical documentation and strategic recommendations for the enhancement and modernization of several business-critical customer-care systems and processes. DDGlobal is currently deployed on several ongoing engagements, continuing to provide value to these key initiatives.
