Overview: Cvent is leading the way for premier planning and eMarketing web-based applications for event professionals and marketers. By providing such services as registration, secure online fee collection, targeted email campaigns, and business intelligence, Cvent is paving the way for extremely effective, inexpensive and seamless event planning and operations.

Business Challenge: Cvent's goal was to dominate their market space. They chose DDGlobal to develop a commerce engine for their web site, and provide staff support as Cvent grew its web presence and functionality.

Solution: Cvent had in place a business model and homepage for services, however, lacked the critical piece to accept payments for services such as registration. The solution was to enable the in-place components to bridge to a payment processing system. DDGlobal was able to support Cvent with technological and human resource solutions.

First, taking on the task of integrating CyberCash payment processing with the web site, DDGlobal designed and developed an object-oriented component in Visual Basic that enables Cvent's online fee collection functionality from the web site and features complex error-handling functionality.

In addition, DDGlobal deployed two teams of developers onsite at Cvent to help complete two major web site releases. The first released featured the debut of the online fee collection application. The team provided valuable and timely assistance in the following areas:

• Database optimization, including converting embedded queries into stored procedures
• ASP/HTML validation
• Modifications to shopping cart pages
• Customization of Microstrategy pages for the Cvent site
• Design and coding of the login/logout transition between the Cvent site and Microstrategy
• Creation of new page headers and include files
• Coding of new website functionality
• Error checking of objects
• Testing
